----- My Profile ---------------

My History

I was raised in California where I went to college receiving my degree in Business. While in college I took web design courses supplementing my education. Out of college I worked for Pacific Web a design firm where I really learned design concepts, and search engine analysis and placement. Pacific Web was probably my favorite job as we all got along great and my best work memories are from there. In 2000 I moved to Florida, where I have been ever since. While here I have been studying Spanish and am quite adept at the language but not fluent. My Spanish is good enough as I went to Spain with a friend who knows no Spanish, and we were quite fine with my understanding of the language.

My Work

My first job really was selling candy and fireworks at school (should I admit that?) and now I am VP of Sales & Marketing for an internet company. The job is good as I get a fair amount of vacation time and a decent measure of freedom. On the side and if I have the time which anymore is rarely, I design websites for friends or other businesses that find me and want them.

My Hobbies

Traveling, especially international travel is by far my favorite form of recreation. I love leaving the US and traveling to other countries and experiencing everything from their culture, food, architecture and natural beauty. When it comes to traveling, I can really relate to Anthony Bourdain from the Travel Channel. It's good to really get absorbed in where you travel to really experience it. I have traveled to Europe, Latin America, Caribbean islands and throughout the USA. Europe is by far my favorite destination, although the most expensive. I love the Mediterranean! The scenery is gorgeous, the weather dry and warm, and the Mediterranean cuisine delicious. Most important is the culture, history and ancient architecture in such cities as Rome and Athens is amazing.

Another passion I have is for Argentine Tango. I love this elegant, passionate yet very difficult dance. It has taken time to learn it, and I am still learning it. I am far from being an expert. My instructor was actually a direct student of tango legend Carlos Gavito. He is very strict with us, but we are learning the correct way to dance and lead on the fly instead of just following a preset routine which is what you see most people do.

Other interests that I have are skiing, wakeboarding, spelunking, cliff diving and anything adventurous with a thrill. For instance, I loved using the zip lines to traverse the canopy in the Costa Rican jungles.

Another form of vacation that I like when funds are low is cruising. No I do not love cruising for the gluttonous feasting and non-stop entertainment. I actually enjoy the peace and tranquility of being out at sea. All you can see is an infinity of varying hues of blue, clouds, the fresh air and the feel of the sea breezes. I love sitting up on the highest deck just relaxing and taking it in.

Countries and Territories Visited

Since traveling is my passion, I thought that I should list where in the world I have visited. My list is based on the Travelers' Century Club a nonprofit social organization representing world travelers who have visited 100 or more of the world's countries and territories. I am still a long way off from being a member of this prestigious club.
